Hello everyone! Thanks so much for visiting my website! I know it may look slightly rudimentary, but I'm still learning this whole web design thing. This section of the webpage is pretty much the only place you'll hear my voice, so enjoy it!
I started this website in 2007. It sat online with a gorgeous "Coming Soon" place page until I felt comfortable pushing that "Publish" button. And finally, I decided it was time. My original plan for this website was to post my newspaper clips and even run some sound on here of my projects I've done. However, I'm thinking now the clips should be by request only. If you're impatient or curious, you can go to the journalism website
for UT-Austin and look up my work. I'm still on their archives. Not to mention my picture floating in the headline design of their webpage
. Yes, I'm not only the voice of the journalism school, but also the face of it.
Though my true journalistic interests stem in sportscasting, I've tried recently to broaden my viewpoints and try new things. Thus, I started working for the Statesman
on the Business desk and do some work for the Life and Arts section.
After a while, I wanted to get back to my other interest, multimedia journalism. KXAN
offered me a job in their web department and I knew I needed to be there. I was able to cover Austin City Limits, South By Southwest, trials and many hurricanes, including Ike.
Now I work for KRQE,
the CBS station in Albuquerque, New Mexico as the New Media Executive Producer. I am in charge of editorial decisions regarding the website, as well as content development. I'm able to work with reporters to figure out how they can flesh out their stories online. I also get to help producers mention meaningful "web pushes" on air so more people want to come to the news website.
So, look around my site!
